Verdasys Announces Breakthrough Approach to Online Security

Multi-Year, Seven Million User Initial SiteTrust Commitment from Leading Online Broker

Waltham, MA – September 15, 2008 - Verdasys, Inc., the leader in global data security for the Global 2000, and the first company to unify enterprise and consumer information protection for more than seven million users worldwide, today announced the release of SiteTrust, the leading solution for securing online banking, brokerage and eCommerce transactions, and a five year, multi-million dollar deal to safeguard seven million users of a leading online broker. SiteTrust uniquely secures online transactions, even when consumer machines are compromised with malware.

SiteTrust extends and utilizes critical components of the proven Digital Guardian platform currently deployed on hundreds of thousands of desktops, laptops and servers at Global 2000 companies, to create the first anti-malware solution that provides complete consumer protection against threats across the entire online transaction. In two externally funded studies conducted by independent malware expert firms, SiteTrust was found to be 100% effective against all known malware threats.

SiteTrust was designed based on the assumption that a majority of consumer machines are compromised by rootkits, Trojans, keyloggers, viruses and other malware. SiteTrust stealthily evades malware and other modern threats, leaving them blind to transactions on infected consumer machines. SiteTrust bypasses known attack vectors and uses self-diagnostics as well as active defense measures to secure consumer credentials and transactions, providing complete security from the consumer’s fingertip to the server.

“The company has been looking at uses for its technology that will help it break out of the anti-data-leakage (ADL) space, with the goal of getting into other segments that might benefit from a pretty well-built, and by now robust, data surveillance rootkit that can make go/no-go decisions about any number of things,” said Nick Selby, Research Director with The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, in his report. He continued in his report “By all accounts, Verdasys is on a roll, and it seems to be making both good product and good money. To have a customer basically subsidize the biggest break-out from one space into another speaks quite well of its potential.” This comment appeared in an independent report, titled “Verdasys, gaining marquee customers in ADL, jumps the fence to antifraud,” published on July 8, 2008 (see Editor’s Note below).
“Current approaches to securing transactions, such as anti-virus and anti-malware, are failing miserably, and their efficacy continues to worsen. For companies seeking to provide fingertip to server security to their consumers, SiteTrust is a revolutionary approach that provides unparalleled protection against today’s growing threat landscape,” said Nicholas Stamos, President and Co-Founder of Verdasys. “We are truly excited by the results we’ve seen with this unique and new approach, and look forward to building on that success in the future,” he added.
